I was having breakfast this morning when I stumbled upon this lovely picture:

Lovely, isn't it?

Today, it is thursday. I should be going to the doctor at 12:00, I am having one of those long-lasting throath infections. Or at least, that's what my dad told me. Afterwards, I'm meeting with friends. These days are awesome: instead of saying goodbye, we are just hanging around more often than ever. When it's raining, we stay inside, cosy in a blanket, with magazines and wine. When it's sunny, we go outside, into the park or a pub next door. We talk about all the things that matter, or don't matter at all - it doens't even matter. We're just happy spending time together and enjoying eachother's company. We are living life to the fullest, or at least I am, because I am leaving. We should be doing that more often. Actually, we should be doing that all the time.

When I was 20-something, I wrote this poem:

pluk de dag en ook de nacht
zet hem op en ook je hoed
zorgen bestaan niet en
alles komt goed

slaap als een roos
en vlieg dan naar huis
zweven voor even
zo pluk je heel het leven

I sometimes feel as if my life is captured in moments, words and pictures that no longer exist. Writing makes me remember those moments that make life matter, those memories that make me smile. I think it's time for this song:

"sun is shining in the sky
there ain't a cloud in sight
it stopped raining
everybody's in a play
and don't you know
it's a beautiful new day, hey hey"

That's it for now. Let's get up and get dressed, let's break that routine and start the day with cupcakes. Who's in?
